Here bygynneth the Book
of the tales of Caunterbury

The third Canterbury Climate & Fair Trade Market will be held in St George's Street, Canterbury on Saturday 12th May, 2012

Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages,
And palmeres for to seken straunge strondes,
To ferne halwes, kowthe in sondry londes;
And specially from every shires ende
Of engelond to caunterbury they wende,

This beautiful city with cobbled lanes and streets, is the seat of the Anglican Communion and Kent's premier tourist destination. Canterbury is dominated by the impressive Norman Cathedral, where in 1170 Thomas Beckett was murdered - turning Canterbury into a place of pilgrimage.

The Climate & Fair Trade Market will run from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 12th May 2012.

There will be campaign stalls, entertainers, Fairtrade and organic produce stalls, and displays stretching along The Parade and St George’s Street between the ancient clock tower and historic Rose Lane.

Canterbury & District Greenpeace is grateful to the City of Canterbury for allowing us this opportunity and to Philippe Esclasse, Canterbury City Centre Manager, for making the whole event possible.

"The planet should not be used as a warehouse of resources to serve humanity's selfishness" - Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury

Thanks for the opportunity to exhibit at the climate fair and thanks too for the chance to tell you and your support team what a great event they organised. The video gave a great taste of the Fair. Is there more? Well organised, great atmosphere (that doesn't happen by chance), good support, super exposure, perfect pitch (opposite WHSmiths), engaging and varied live acts ( no musak just sincere and heartfelt songs of our time), lively crowd, interesting mix of exhibitors and services and perfect weather (you must have a direct line to him upstairs).

Please count us in on any future events in Canterbury or across the County.”

Bruce Davis, Eternal Energy Systems Ltd.
